T’was the day after Christmas, and all through the house
all the presents were opened, the cat found the mouse.
The wrapping was spread all over the floor
There were presents to play with, and Candy galore
And me and my wife, sat to look at the bills.
While the kids they all argued about who made the spill.
When what to my wondering eyes did appear
but a single small child, walking past us with tears.
For His family did not, on the previous day
Have much they could share, but some curds and some whey.
As we looked at each other, we began to review.
All the good things we had, we could share them a few.
So my son grabbed an old Game-boy system of his,
I never do need this, I guess that it’s his.
And we gathered some turkey, other left over things.
And we headed on out to that family to sing.
As we knocked on the door, it was answered with doubt.
They had no way of knowing, who was out and about.
And we entered their house, and we said it with glee.
Merry Christmas to all, here’s some things you may need.
And we gave them a meal, and some presents galour,
We sang Christmas songs plenty and played on the floor.
And said as we left to the cool winters sight.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
